Let the Fashions Begin Announces "Men of Style 2009" Honorees
Event Raises Funds to Find Cure for Sickle Cell Disease and to Benefit Sickle Cell Patients

WHAT:
Men of Style, which honors men in the Houston community who have shown a sense of fashion savvy and dedication to community service while raising funds to find a cure for sickle cell disease, announces its 2009 honorees.

WHO:
Presented by Let the Fashions Begin, Inc. New York Life Insurance Company and Polo Becca. benefiting the Texas Children's Sickle Cell Center and Sickle Cell Patients.

WHY:
Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that causes an abnormality of the structure of the red blood cells which tend to get stuck in blood vessels, leading to excruciating pain and sometimes life-threatening organ damage. Approximately eight of every 100,000 people develop sickle cell disease. It is more prevalent in certain populations, affecting one in every 400 African-Americans; and one in 1,200 Hispanic-Americans. All funds raised benefit the Texas Children's Sickle Cell Center to find a cure for this disease
